Amelie

Movie Poster Redesign

Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Amélie (2001) is a movie about laughs, cries, and romance. This heartwarming tale of self-discovery and serendipitous encounters celebrates the beauty in everyday life with a rich visual style.

In my redesign, I aimed to reimagine the poster with a Wong Kar-wai-inspired aesthetic, incorporating dreamlike visuals and saturated tones. I wanted to highlight the emotional depth of Amélie—its whimsy and romanticism—while adding a more cinematic, ephemeral feel that mirrors the tender and fleeting moments that define the story. The interplay of soft lighting, rich red hues, and layered textures creates a dreamlike atmosphere, while the collage of film-strip imagery invites the viewer to step into Amélie’s whimsical world.
